Plastic injection molding is our core business. 3DPS can rapidly engineer and build both stand alone and industry standard Master Unit Die (MUD) plastic injection molds. From simple to complex, single to multi-cavity we have injection molding solutions that fit your needs. We offer some of the most advanced CAD CAM technology available combined with diverse and highly trained craftsman. Our designers, mold makers and journeyman machinists collaborate on each project to bring you a quality tool that can deliver consistently accurate parts for years.

Plastic injection molding is a manufacturing process whereby heated plastic resin is injected into precision machined metal mold cavities under high pressure. When cooled it then solidifies into the desired shape. This process is used to produce parts which range from the very simple to the highly complex. Injection molding machines, typically called “presses” fitted with your custom American built 3DPS tooling can duplicate a single plastic part accurately millions of times in some cases. We will assist you in sourcing a material that provides the required properties, such as ultraviolet or chemical resistance, tensile strength, dimensional stability, etc.

Some common material types that can be injection molded include:

ABS     Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene

ASA     Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate

Nylon   Polyamide

PBT     Polybutylene Terephthalate

PC       Polycarbonate

PE       Polyethylene

PEI     Polyether Imide

PET     Polyethylene Terephthalate

PMMA Acrylic

POM   Acetal

PP       Polypropylene

PPA     Polyphthalamide

PPE     Polyphenylene Ether

PPS     Polyphenylene Sulfide

PS       Polystyrene

TPE     Thermoplastic Elastomer

TPU     Thermoplastic Polyurethane Elastomer

Secondary Operations, Packaging and Label Generation:

In addition to molding, we can perform for you a variety of secondary operations, including machining, sonic welding, kitting and assembling to make your parts as ready for use as possible. When your product is ready, you choose how it’s packaged and how it’s shipped. We can ship to your facility or directly to your distributor. Package and label design service, auto-bagging and 3D product renderings used in presentations or for web are available to help you create your vision, here in the USA.

Custom End of Arm Tooling (EOA):

If your project requires high production or medical sterility, we can design and build robotic end-of-arm tooling solutions that fit your specific needs.
